Underwater Noise Modelling in Baltic Sea

We are delighted to get involved with the underwater noise modelling for a geophysical survey in the South Baltic Sea, contracted by MMT an Ocean Infinity Company.

This as part of the end client Equinor ASA strategy to preserve biodiversity while mapping the seafloor and subsurface sediment to construct a new offshore wind farm.

We modelled both the multibeam echosounders, sparkers, chirpers and positioning systems, covering frequencies from 10-160,000 Hz and worked with EDR to establish the acoustic impact on marine mammals and the Marine Mammal Mitigation Plan.
