Underwater Noise Assessment at Stornoway

Irwin Carr has been working with Envirocentre on the expansion of a deep water port and a marina in the natural harbour of Stornoway, Scottish Western Isles.

We are undertaking underwater noise modelling using our dBSea Software – www.dbsea.co.uk  Our assessment takes account of the presence of several acoustically sensitive species, including minke whale, risso’s dolphin and harbour porpoise, as well as addressing the potential impact on the locally important trout and salmon.
