Irwin Carr were delighted to assist the IWEA in their Wind Skillnet Programme by presenting to members on the subject of Wind Farm Noise.
The course outlined the normal procedure for each step in assessing wind farm noise from initial site layout review, background monitoring and noise modelling as well as sections on the proposed changes to the Wind Energy Development Guidelines in Ireland and some more topical current issues with relation to wind turbine noise including post-completion testing, issues on the impact of noise from cumulative sites and amplitude modulation assessment.
There was a lot of informative discussion on the experience of various members and it is hoped to run a similar course in the new year.
