Planning permission has been secured for the Carbon Sole Shannon Green Energy Bio Park following the submission of environmental assessments by Irwin Carr Consulting. Working alongside the wider project team, Irwin Carr delivered detailed noise and air quality assessments to support the planning application.
Once operational, the development will provide sustainable green electricity, heat and renewable gas infrastructure for the Shannon area, helping to offset an estimated 67,500 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually. This landmark project represents a significant step towards decarbonisation and regional energy resilience, demonstrating how robust environmental assessment can support the delivery of major renewable energy developments.
